A NEW BLOG!
Friends:
I hate it when you're sick. Really. It's a terrible thing, and not just because I love you, but because it's really annoying to read your facebook posts, and to hear you whine, and because over and over and over again, you keep doing dumb things to make yourselves sick. And I mean all that with all of the love that I can muster.
Now, I have a hobby, that mostly involves reading about food, specifically the way food affects you, and the way that food makes you better. Or not sick to begin with.
I've been spreading information to you dudes for months now about awesome food. I've been telling you about it in bars, and on gmail chats, and I've been scribbling notes about it on napkins, because you keep forgetting the word MAITAKE. And now, I'm gonna make it all in one place, have it be easily accessable, have it be totally EASY for you dudes to get better. Sounds good, right? I'll do my best to make the information as accurate as possible, feel free to let me know if I'm missing something. I'm not a doctor, especially not your doctor, so if you have some weirdo issues, or allergies, or whatever, maybe talk to your doctor and not just listen to some shit I write on the internet.
Alright, so there we are. And away we go. contact me at nomoresickfriends@gmail.com

Best blog introduction EVER. I will continue reading now.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the mushroom posts- informative AND fun. I just did a post on my blog about how to make elderberry syrup and tincture. I definitely should have put in the part about not just listening to some shit I write on the internet and talking to your doctor if you have some weirdo issues. Awesome. (Found your site through Alicia's-also awesome)
ReplyDeletewow I love you're blog I'm all about healthy eating and homeopathic treatments. in fact my mom has a recipe that cures you of any cold/flu overnight that we've used for years.
ReplyDeletehurray for the healing properties of food.
ReplyDeletetell me, is there something that can help with the moisture of eyes? i know this sounds crazy, but i've got dry eyes and i read somewhere that goji berries are good for eye moisture, but they leave a funny taste in my mouth, much like when i get an allergic reaction to nuts. also, i dont think i could eat a shitton of goji berries.
cheers!
I approve. And I already love you.
ReplyDeletehey absinthe dreams, I don't know what's causing your dry eyes, it could be allergies or cigarettes or pollution or weed or who knows. If it's a vitamin problem, it could be a lack of Vitamin A, or Omega-III Fatty acids, which could come about if you're vegan. If you're not, both of those could be obtained from sardines. Which, yes, CAN smell hella bad, but they can also taste hella good. If you are vegan, then parsley (which I'm actually writing about next) and flax seed oil are good ways to go.
ReplyDeleteAlso, the part of the Goji Berry that is good for eye sight is zeaxanthin, a carotenoid that is good for fighting cataracts and other eye ailments. You can also find it in collard greens, kale, chard and broccoli, so try those.
But really dude, it could be the weed.
Errrbody else, glad you like it.
Yep, I'm in love too. Not cos I'm a on a mad health kick or anything but cos I know I should be so I'm gonna drop by once in a while to have you put me back on the stright & narrow.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks from a healthier me from the future xx
PS I just made pasta & put a good shoosh of turmeric in ;o)
ReplyDeletethanks for the awesome response. i am eating ground flax seed almost daily and trying to eat them greens more. i just started on a supplement with omegaIII called neurozyme because eating fish 2x month wasnt enough. i do feel less ditzy/ more grounded after the supplement (3 weeks) and i've been having crazy dreams.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a new post soon! I anxiously await one.
